We say this at mass every time I attend mass and even when I don’t I am keenly aware it is said.
“What?” you ask:
“Lord, I am not worthy to receive You, but only say the word and I shall be healed.”
Ring a bell anyone? Let me ask, “Where does that come from?” Or even, “What does it mean?”
Frankly in mass I have wondered or even thought perhaps I was saying it wrong.
Even as a Christian/Catholic I thought it meant at the giving of Communion I was not worthy to receive communion. If Jesus said the Word, all my sins, wrongdoing, faults would be forgiven.
Wrong!
Matthew 8 says Jesus first healed a man of leprosy and told him not to tell anyone but to go straight to the temple and give what was required to God’s endless riches in GLORY and gifting us in all. Amen
So I was reading The Word and there it was. An eye-opener and a Spiritual gift. God knows all! That was the answer to my search? I believe so. Many times we are shocked by the awesomeness of God! Amen.
The story: “When an officer of the Roman guard came to Jesus to ask for healing for his servant, Jesus offered to accompany him to heal the servant. But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.” Matthew 8:8 (To read this in its entirety, read Matthew 8:1-17)
Y’all, The Bible is ONE. Bind us together LORD, bind us together with a chord that cannot be broken, Amen
There is ONE true God, one faith, one body and that is the body of Christ. Man alone separates himself through denominations and false religions. However God will call unto Him those who are His at His return. “My sheep know My Voice…”
Lord let your Word cross all religious divides and denominations and unite us as one, In Jesus’s Mighty Name! Amen 🙏🏾 🙏🏾🙏🏾
