Dad’s Are A Blessing From God!

God created man to be a blessing to the world and to lead his family in the ways of The Lord – “And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him…” Genesis 1:26-27   “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7

He is the leader of the household. The first teacher of God’s Word –“train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Dads embody God’s Direction for our lives – “You are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men.”

2 Corinthians 3:2

Dads provide for our needs. Dads show Love, care and concern different from moms. They not only offer financial support, but a quiet, strong, Loving support and care for our emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Though this area of their impact on the family is not always acknowledged, they are quiet, gentle giants of stability and physical support – “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” 2 Timothy 5:8

Dads who Love their children, teach them respect, discipline and hard work – “He that spareth his rod hatethhis son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him.” Proverbs 13:24

Dads who invest time in their children, have one-on-one conversations and go for walks with them and mold their faith in God by impressing The Word in their minds, bodies and souls – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home with them and when you walk with them along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them (God’s commandments) as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your homes and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Dads guide and instruct their children in the ways of The Lord –“And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of The Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

Dads Love their children with a Storge (familial) Love. The Love of a Dad is just as, if not more, important than a mother’s! It is a critical component of a child’s development and feelings of acceptance and self-worth. A real Dad NEVER gives up on his child. Reflect on “The Prodigal Son” story Luke 15:20-24

Dads are the prayer warriors of the home, the ones who stand in the gap before The Lord for his family. The receptacle, teacher and sharer of God’s Word with his family. God’s blessings on the household flow from Him to our dads, the wives on down. Be grateful for your dad or the ‘dads’ in your life. They are a blessing and we give honor, Love and respect to them that are so deserving on this day.

Blessings, Love & Thanks To Our Dads, Past & Present On This Day!
