Does God ‘Smile’?

Do we?

Genesis 1:27 states –

“So God created Mankind in His own image,

in The Image of God He created them;

male and female God created them.”

Does anything else display ’emotion’?
Some monkeys and apes smile. They’re the only animals that smile because they’re happy, like humans. Dolphins don’t smile. … Dogs are very honest, and you can clearly see if they’re happy through their eyes.

First, similarities between organisms—like those between humans and apes—cannot be used to prove evolution. All living creatures down to bacteria share similarities (for example, see this article for more information on similarities). We can argue that the similarities are actually evidence for a common Designer. Why wouldn’t God create living things using similar principles? After all, an artist or builder will often create different works with a similar design.

Whether one interprets similarities as evidence for evolution from a common ancestor or evidence for the Designer depends on one’s presuppositions. The evolutionary idea of homology—inferring common descent from structure similarity—is an assumption by those who reject the Creator’s account in the Bible.

The biblical account of Genesis is clear. At the end of the Creation Week, God called His creation “very good” and “finished” (Genesis 1:31, 2:1–2). No evolutionary process of death improved His design by leading to humans from an ape-like ancestor. Although created on Day Six with the land animals, Adam and Eve were distinct from apes and other animal kinds because God created humans in His image (Genesis 1:26–27). God gave people unique linguistic, aesthetic, rational, moral, and spiritual capacities that were not given to animals.

Second, God designed apes to show His creative power, but belief in man as a highly evolved ape may become a sign of judgment when man honors the creature rather than the Creator (Romans 1:24–25). Although man was created to know and glorify God, the first man and woman rebelled against Him for a satanic lie. Satan, the “father of lies,” deceived Eve by distorting the truth and leading her to doubt God’s Word (John 8:44). Eve was deceived, and Adam willfully ate the forbidden fruit. Their sin brought death and suffering into the world (Romans 5:12–14).

Ever since the Fall, Satan continues to employ his insidious method: taking God’s truth and twisting it to deceive sinful man. He has continued to spread lies about God’s existence, His nature, and His Word. Fallen man has continued to believe those lies, reject God, and live in his sin while denying the reality of judgment.

One of those lies is evolution. Atheists useevolution to deny the truth of God’s Word, relying instead on man’s fallible reasoning alone to explain the origin and design of the world. They replace God, purpose, and morality with nature, chance, and relativism. Man pretends as if God does not exist.

Yet creation—even the ape—is evidence of God (Romans 1:18–23). God also gave special revelation through His Word, the Bible, and through His own Son who came to earth. Jesus chided those who asked for a sign as proof when they would not believe the Bible (Matthew 12:39; Luke 16:31). If we choose to believe man’s reasoning above God’s revelation, we deserve God’s judgment (Romans 1:24–32).

God focused on the disease (sin) instead of the symptom (evolution). Since the all-knowing God knew evolution would deceive many people, why did He create creatures like apes, which evolutionists would use to support their dogma? If God had not created apes, however, evolutionists would just find another “common ancestor.” The problem is not the evidence, but sinful man’s faulty interpretation of the evidence made in a futile attempt to avoid recognizing the Creator, Law Giver, and Judge. Instead of not creating things Satan would warp for evil, God sent the remedy for the deadly disease of sin: the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ’s perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious Resurrection conquered sin and death. God graciously saves all who turn to the Lord Jesus in repentance and faith. After judging unbelievers, Jesus will one day reign over believers in a new heaven and earth without evil.

“Because God wanted to” is a key answer for our existence, and once again, I present the question – why are you?

Knowing God’s infinite Wisdom and holy nature, we should trust His will and ways (Isaiah 55:7–9; Romans 8:28; 11:33–36).

What can we do?

Try to learn what pleases The Lord.

Ephesians 5:10

Fact! No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

So then, my friends, because of God’s great mercy to us I appeal to you: offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to His service and pleasing to Him.

This is the true worship that you should offer.

Romans 12:1

More than anything else, however, we want to please God, whether in our home here or There. Amen

2 Corinthians 5:9

If you plant in the field of your natural desires, from it you will gather the harvest of death; if you plant in the field of the Spirit, from The Spirit you will gather the harvest of eternal life.

Galatians 6:8

What is the opposite of eternal life?

Most will agree that the opposite of life is death!

In the Book of Genesis 2:17 when The Most High God told the Man Adam that in the day he eats from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, Man will certainly die. He was telling Adam that he would lose his ‘life’.

And we at times wonder, do angel’s have age? What gender are they? Gender is an Earthly concept such as Age!

No, they do not!

Mark 16:5 answers this for us: “And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.”

Dear friends, the “young man” was actually an angel. Yes, Mark provides a window for us to peer into the angelic world. Angels can materialize in our dimension at will, and then disappear just as quickly and return to heaven. When they do appear, it is always in the form of mennever women as depicted in mythology, religion, and superstition!

As Mark indicates, although angels have existed for thousands of years, their appearance does not reflect their age. We grow older; they do not. Yet, like us, they wear clothes. In this case, “a long white garment.” Luke 24:4 calls them “shining garments.” Do they make their own clothing? Out of what do they make it? (These are mysterious questions we cannot answer at this time.)

Note how Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were “affrighted” to see that angel in Mark 16:5; he very much resembled a man, and yet, something about his appearance made them afraid. Evidently, they knew it was an angel rather than an ordinary human being.

If we keep reading in Mark’s final chapter, we learn that the angel speaks in a human language—Hebrew?, Aramaic?, ?—that Jesus’ disciples can understand: “[6] And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. [7] But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.” Angels are extremely intelligent creatures.

Here is one final little piece of information about angels. While not stated in Mark, we learn from Matthew 28:1-8, the parallel passage, that one angel rolled away the gigantic stone from Jesus’ tomb. Thus, the women could enter the cave and find it empty. Angels have incredible strength!

But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.

When the Prophet Ezekiel says at Ezekiel 18:4:

The soul that is sinning—it itself will die

Yet, if we look at what is called everlasting or eternal life, it is something quite different from life. Just as life has an opposite called death, everlasting life has an opposite as well.

What is Everlasting Life?

Everlasting life – as the name implies – is life without end. Death is not associated with everlasting life. Those granted with everlasting life need not worry about ever dying. Those who have life – the life we all have at present – have standing in front of us an assured death. That is, we are growing old and getting sick and we will expire in death. This is the sentence The Most High God placed upon our first human parents Adam and Eve and it is the sentence that we inherited from them.

What Is The Opposite of Everlasting Life?

If life has death as its opposite, then everlasting life has an opposite to. What is it? Notice what Revelation 20:14 says:

And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.

The Second and final Death (Lake of Fire) is the opposite of Everlasting Life.

Anything cast into the Lake of Fire (God’s absence) ceases to exist under the Auspice of God. God Sees all. He obserses each way of Man.

He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
Psalm 33:15

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:6 KJV

Like paper thrown into a literal fire, it is burned up and ceases to be. So shall they who live serving other god’s cease to be in His presence.

Revelation 20:14 shows that Death along with Hell will be cast into The Lake of Fire so these two things will one day cease to exist; that is, go into nonexistence.

Complex, I know! But let us dig further:

“But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.”

Job 32:8

Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Since death – the opposite of life – will one day cease to exist for those who believe in existence after death, we shall recieve according to the measure of our faith,

what will remain for all humans ever born will be Everlasting Life or The Second Death (The Lake of Fire or No Longer Existing).

At John 3:16 Jesus makes this statement:

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

Notice that Jesus did not say that God loved the world so much that those exercising faith in him would not die (see death). He said that they might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. Other Bible translations use the expression shall not perish but have eternal life.

The thing I want you to notice about John 3:16 is that Jesus contrasts being destroyed (perishing) with everlasting (eternal) life. Jesus’ words are not talking about the life we enjoy now and the eventual death we all face. It is speaking of something much much different.

Has Popular Religious Organization Been Wrong In It’s Teaching About Life, Death, Eternal Life, and The Second Death?

Without sounding arrogant, yes they have.

Most have not seen in John 3:16 that Jesus was not referring to simply losing their lives in death. They have not seen that Jesus was referring to something much more permanent: A perishing or being destroyed for all eternity (eternal destruction, not eternal torment)

At present each and every human ever born and given life since Adam will live and die. Billions to this day since Adam lie in their graves in death. Billions living today are growing old and getting sick and will also die. Nothing will change God’s pronouncement of death upon Adam and his offspring. We all will face death as assuredly as we experience life.

Yet, at John 3:16, Jesus spoke of something much greater than the death and life we all know today. He spoke of everlasting life contrasted by being destroyed for all eternity – a perishing, Second Death, or Lake of Fire.

The question arises: “If all persons born since Adam will die, how can any have everlasting life or face a perishing?

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

– Hebrews 13:16

To God be The glory. Let us praise God together for His ALL in our lives, Amen.
