Times & Seasons

Intro

For some time now I have been meditating and thinking about the times and seasons we are living in. As I have been walking with the Lord from an early; yet tender age of thirteen (13 yrs). Since I had given my heart and life to the Lord at the beginning of my teen years! Therefore I would love to remind all the youth of today even as Ecclesiastes (also known as the Preacher) had in his day> _ _ _to earnestly, urgently seek the Lord in the days of your youth _ _ _!

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them;” (Ecc 12:1 WEBA) https://www.esword.net (Ecc 12:1 WEBA)

Our days upon the earth are regularly recorded in the Heavenly, celestial Library. This is why the Psalmist reminds us to number our days. Through regular study of the Word we come across some passages speaking of times, and seasons. Even records are made when the Scripture speaks about books which are opened (see Dan 7:10 & Rev 20:12).

Now I am entering the 59th/60th year of my habitation upon the earth and have been walking and living for the Lord (for over 46/47 years odd)! Over the years I discovered what a great pleasure, privilege it is to serve and walk with the Lord. Although we do not deserve His Grace and Mercy, He chose to love us first! When the fullness of time had come, Scripture says; God sent forth His Son Born of a virgin.

Hope & Future (Fullness of Time)

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children. And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” says Yahweh, “and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says Yahweh. I will bring you again to the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.”

From the above Scriptures, we are able to discern God’s original plan of deliverance, restoration and salvation for all mankind. Today we are able to look back on this turning point of our world’s history. Therefore we should have the opportunity of hearing, seeing the future! This is just one of the many prophetic Words which God has given to Jeremiah, whereby He promises us deliverance, healing, reconciliation, restoration and Salvation!

God has given us His Word; prophesied by Jeremiah; including many of His servants the prophets! As is written, God shall not do anything, without first letting His servants the prophets know of His plans, His secrets! For this reason, He raises us up as watchmen on the walls. He sought for someone to stand in the gap for the nations; finding none, starts showing His disapproval of the world’s iniquities, sin, unrighteousness and wickedness. Remember our God is thrice Holy, Righteous, Just and a Consuming Fire! Sin (ie sinful man) is not able to stand in the Presence of a Holy God!

And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before me for the land that I should not destroy it, but I found no one. Therefore have I poured out my indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath; I have recompensed their own way upon their heads, said the Lord GOD.

Now knowing none; are able to stand in the presence of a Holy, Just, Righteous God! How much more so as we draw closer to the end of this present age, need we to understand; the prophetic times and seasons we are presently living in! The Day of the Lord is drawing near! In fact; it is on hand! Repentance is key! The Great Harvest of Souls is at the End of the Age! We are living in that time.

These all concern His plans of future success shalom (peace, Prosperity) healing, restoration, an abundance of Grace and Salvation for all people! Whoever calls on His Name shall not be disappointed! You see the future, times and seasons are in the Father’s Hands> He has control there of! (See Acts 1:6-8; Thes 5:1: Dan 2:17-23). Therefore our God is not ashamed neither caught unawares! He has placed His Honour, His Word, His Name on the line, due to the Greatness of His Love (Agape)! His Love which surpasses all human understanding, far exceeds above that which we may ask, think or imagine (Eph 3:17-21).

Note the Lord says;

“He gives us a hope and a future!” Future is a time and a season. He knows the plans He has for us. Our lives, times and seasons are continually in the Lord’s Hands. As mentioned in an earlier post (“Welcome to the Seniors”); we all go through different seasons of our lives. How we react therein determines our future outcome. We regularly are encouraged to seek the Lord’s face. In all our seeking let us seek the Lord, for He holds the keys of Death and Hades in His Hand (see Rev 1:18).

And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years. And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Eternity is a timeless zone or realm. Eternity is one full day that never ends. If someone was to suffer in eternity for instance, how long will he suffer? It will be forever. If man lived in eternity, the circumstances we pray that will come to an end will never end.
If the earth was designed to be like heaven – a timeless realm, then, there will be no end to evil and unpleasant circumstances, poverty, sorrow and sickness will never end. Nothing will change.
Change is impossible in eternity. Anything in eternity stays on. Time is a temporary interruption in eternity. It is an instrument in measuring, assessing, planning and perfecting the inhabitants of the earth. In time, change is possible. Anything you don’t want, can be eliminated. In time, nothing is permanent – no condition is permanent.

When we commit our way to the Lord, He is sure to direct our paths! For the steps of a good man and woman are ordered by the Lord. Though we may fall; our Lord raises us up with His Righteous Right Hand! He promises us; He shall never leave us nor forsake us! He is always with us even unto the end of the age and even for all Eternity! Yea even though our enemy may come in, The Holy Spirit raises His Standard against him. The Lord had also given us the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven into our hands. Therefore we need to use them wisely to open and shut the things upon the Earth and things in the heavens>

Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.” Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

Our Lord has given His Life for us through dying on the cross for all nations, people, and generations; throughout the world everywhere! He became our sacrificial Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. He who knew no sin became sin for us; so we would become the Righteousness of God in and through Him! Therefore through our acceptance of His Sacrifice, we received abundant Life!

He did this so that when we believe on Him we receive Salvation, Healing and deliverance! He brought into the world the beginning of this current church Age, which we presently live in. For this Age of Grace came into being, since the death, resurrection, & ascension of Messiah! While reading the times and seasons, we are able to determine how close we are to the end of this current church age, which we are living in.

While the Earth Remains

Through the power and utterance of His Spoken Word, He keeps everything in their place! He rules and reigns supremely over all! From eternity to Eternity He remains the same! He has never been bound by time! Yet He created the times and seasons. In fact, we could boldly say our Lord created time, for us to enjoy rejoicing in Him!

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. (Gen 8:22 LITV) Since the very beginning of time, He establishes seedtime and harvest, cold and heat. He brought and placed every season into their position. He ordered & aligned them with His Word. He also holds and keeps everything, all of creation, their times and seasons by His Hand! He always honours His Word above His Name!

We see further reference to times and seasons, in scripture from the beginning of time. Already in the “Book of Beginnings;” (Genesis; [Hebrew Bereshit]); we read about times and seasons, placed there through and by God! We see the Lord call the sun, moon & stars into being. Instructing them to rule overtimes, years and seasons. The greater light is to rule the day. The lesser would rule over the night. (see Gen 1:13-19).

Use Time Wisely

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. (Pro 3:5 WEB)

Remember also time is one of the most important commodities we have in this life. What we do with the time allotted, could have marked influence in people’s many lives including our own. Right investment of our time throughout the seasons of life can produce exponential results. Time unwisely invested would have complications; a high price allocated and attached to it. For this reason, we are reminded to count the cost involved!

Any projects times and seasons we have in mind start with their first small step. The longest journey, usually and always starts with the first step! But we need to make the quality decision. Thereby acknowledging the onus may rest upon us. We are reminded though to trust the Lord with all our heart not to lean upon our own understanding. We need to seek the Lord’s face in whatever project, time or season we are in> Seeking the Lord when He is to be found. When we urgently seek His Face, He will meet us where we are at.

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones. Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his reproof: for whom Yahweh loves, he reproves; even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.

What shall we do with the times and seasons remaining in our lifetime? Shall we use the time wisely and with discretion, or are we casting our pearls before swine? Time invested in establishing the Kingdom of God will last for an eternity and is able to leave a Godly Heritage! Whatever a man sows he is sure to reap! We are not to despise the day of small beginnings!

Prophetic Times & Seasons (Watch)

Most enterprises, businesses or projects start with an idea, a thought, a challenge, a solution for a problem. During our remaining time and seasons of this world, we need to keep our eyes and ears open for possible opportunities, coming our way. Remember our Lord shall neither test nor temp us above that which we are able.¹² Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. ¹³ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man;

Daniel Chapters 1 & 2 (Study of Daniel)

Then Daniel went to his house and declared the thing to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might pray for the mercies of God in Heaven about this secret, that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision, and Daniel blessed the God of Heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He causes kings to pass away, and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who know understanding. He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells in Him.

Now Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream. In his dream he saw this large, gigantic image! Made of different materials! The image being knocked down, by a rock hewn without human hands! Later this rock became an immovable mountain, which completely filled the whole earth. This matter troubled him greatly! Yet he wasn’t prepared to divulge the dream to his astrologers, wisemen, magicians, Chaldeans nor to his advisors.

Instead he asked them to relate the dream and its interpretation, without giving them any detail thereof! He thought if he told them his dream, they would not lead him into the truth of his dream. When his courtiers, wisemen, magicians were unable to carry out their king’s instruction, he started executing them.

However when this came to the knowledge of Daniel and his friends, he approached the king and intervened on their behalf. Thereby gaining some extra time, for them (Daniel & Friends); to be able to hear from the Lord of Hosts! They knew dreams and visions at times are given to the children of man, through the Lord their God. They also understand the Lord, will not do anything, without first letting His servants, the prophets in the know as to what His plans are.

Meanwhile Daniel and co; entered into prayer and fasting, for the Lord to reveal His secrets to them. During their time of waiting upon God; He (The Lord God of the Heavens & Earth) revealed both the dream; its definition as also the interpretation thereof. During which time, the Lord revealed to them, giving understanding as to the prophetic ages, time and seasons. Wherewith the Lord God Creator of the Heavens and Earth, would establish His Everlasting Kingdom.
