πŸ€” And I πŸ™, So?

What is prayer? I am very keenly aware that pretty much everyone can answer this question! Our Father Who Art in Heaven…. Did I miss that snide comment in the back?

A ‘formulae’ for prayer. Let us break it down; but not quite so fast. For some praying and not receiving, why? Shed tears, even fasts; does anyone went their garments anymore?

Just what am I doing wrong? The Word says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and yeshall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh.” Matthew 7:7,8

Conditions? πŸ€” The LORD’s prayer. Just why is it called that? We have been taught ad nauseam, we repeatedly it, recite it, know it – cold!

Hold up! Conditions do exist. Conditions? Yup!

The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) is Christ’s response in teaching how to speak to our Creator. Bended knew, bowed head, contrite heart… I could go on. But, first I will point out that you are talking to The Creator of all seen and unseen! Do you have parents, a guardian, individuals responsible for you? Mind you, I was not ignorant to say “biologic parents’. There is at least one person in your life that has been worth way more than a penny or you would not be here reading and/or listening to this share

So what does/do that/those individual(s) deserve? Appreciation, respect, thanks…it goes on. How about The Reason you are here?

We can shuffle concepts back and forth for millennia and reach no final agreement. Evolutionary believers will tell you “We came from a cell.” Funny enough, I agree! Funny that I would say that? Not really! We are made up of cells, there was one spermatazoa and one oocyte that existed to create you – a mass of cells.

You were known before that occured!

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5

We can read on, we are all Created for a reason! We can “La-di-da” over this fact or start knowing and searching for your purpose. In closing this “can of worms” just what defines you as a winner no matter how you feel today?! Sperm counts vary from about 20 million to 100 million sperm cells per milliliter of ejaculate. Healthy guys produce from 1.5 ml to 5 ml of semen each time they ejaculate.

YOU are a Winner!

So, we return our attention to speaking as a winner as shown by God in the flesh.

It is a beautiful prayer and one that every Christian should hide in their heart β€” I just challenge all to memorize itu as a blueprint in The elegant of the words. I do not believe Jesus intended it to become another ritualistic prayer.

But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

So, we are champions from conception! Live it! Why were we given this knowledge? It is missed by so many! You were Created a Champion! Live it.

We were unscrambling how to pray from The LORD’s prayer. %2Bto %2Bpray&exid=&clicktype=&gclid=Cj0KCQiAk7TuBRDQARIsAMRrfUag-Ee-xuFJiAbI8F_Y8PL08pdw46n4zhakbXkKdJof_7RVuPYvaF4aAsG8EALw_wcB

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who owe us/trespass against us! Understand that? We are The key in our actions, feelings/emotions to open The Door of blessings! Stopped up? Search your heart; do you want to recieve? Let go! I need not even begin running down the list! Be angry but sin not!

Anger is a natural emotion; in God’s Image we are made, Amen.,-Examples-Of

Anger, passion, emotion are a part of life. Right quick the Medical minds are running to google. I will do it for you!

Alexithymia is a personality construct characterized by the subclinical inability to identify and describe emotions experienced by one’s self or others. The core characteristics of alexithymia are marked dysfunction in emotional awareness, social attachment, and interpersonal relating. Furthermore, people with alexithymia have difficulty in distinguishing and appreciating the emotions of others, which is thought to lead to unempathic and ineffective emotional responding. Alexithymia occurs in approximately 10% of the population and can occur with a number of psychiatric conditions

It is not an absence of emotion! Simply an inability to identify and describe emotions experienced by one’s self or others

So, in our diatribe – we are all born with emotions.

How did we get from The LORD’s prayer to this point? Uhh! Forgive ME my trespasses as I forgive anyone I hold a grudge against. Hold ups? Hold up and search your heart.

We will break here and take off from this point as we proceed.

Four elements of prayer

I want to look in more depth at one of the spiritual disciplines – prayer. Not that I know a lot about it. In fact, it is one discipline I find most difficult. I always thought, and still do, that one’s whole life is a prayer, or that’s my excuse for not spending more time on my knees. I am impressed by the examples of Moslems here. Gilli is so much better at praying than I am, and I sometimes have to confess a certain impatience when she says we should stop everything and pray about something.

But that’s changing and I realise it is vitally important. When we pray, we are after all in communication with God. And I realise that we need to quieten ourselves – to meditate – if we are to hear the still small voice of God.

This is a good time to make another observation about how the Octaikon is used. In this and previous topics, I have placed prayer under different categories:

  1. as a pillar of the church it was green, mapped onto the observation faculty
  2. as a part of the catechism it was yellow, for expression
  3. in its confessional form (see below), it is blue – interpretation, using the mind
  4. and if all life is a prayer, it could be red – actions.

This is because prayer, as conversation with God, will cover all the faculties, depending on whether we are talking to God, listening, thinking or acting.

So don’t be surprised if there are some seeming anomalies in the way other topics are mapped on the Octaikon β€“ it all depends on your viewpoint and the level at which you are looking.

Here is an example that will reinforce this point – if we take prayer alone as the topic and map it onto the Octaikon

Besides the form and timing of prayer, there are also various components – which I remember also from Sunday School. The most memorable acronym (there are several) is ACTS. We need to structure our acts of prayer by:

  1. Adoration β€“ this sets the scene as we recognise God for who he is. It includes praise – not that God needs it, but that we realise he is praiseworthy. That is followed by:
  2. Confession, where we bring to mind all we have done wrong and ask for forgiveness – then:
  3. Thanksgiving, where we thank God for all he has done for us (not the same as praise, which acknowledges God for who he is, irrespective of what he has done for us) – and finally:
  4. Supplication β€“ where we ask God to help us and others for our needs.

To God be The glory. Let us praise God together for His ALL in our lives, Amen.
