These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee.
Jesus spoke these words at the time He was to be tried and crucified. The Word of God knew that it was not going to be pleasant but instead of running away or commanding the angel’s to make His self need come to be; but The Word of God – Whom spoke Him had spoken Him for a reason – us.
In that moment, He turned to God. Christ saw The actual picture of His sacrifice and that is what kept Him going.
In our lives, we should also look at the bigger picture that God has for us, Amen.
Dear God, I pray that in the tough times and in the times thing might not make sense, may You remind me by/with Your Spirit of the bigger picture. When I have to let go of things that do not glorify Thee, no matter how much they mean to me, may Your Spirit remind me of the bigger picture so I do not get caught up in fear or regret. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
