This verse reminds me of when God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son to prove that Abraham was faithful to Him. God sent His Word begotten as Man to die for us, a shepherd dying to protect his flock of sheep. Through his death and rebirth, we are able to live and understand why Jesus lived and died for us. I must admit that I selfishly think about myself a tremendous amount, often neglecting to think of the ultimate sacrifice that Christ made for us. I want to honor Jesus’ sacrifice and this verse reminds me to do so more than any other.
And we pray:
O my Benevolent and Caring LORD how can I repay Thee? Your Kingdom has come, Your will be done, here on Earth as it is in Heaven. Incite a passion in me to spread Your Holy Essence as it is within me, Amen. I pray that I can do my part to aid others in finding and Loving You. Jesus gave Himself for us, and I pray, Loving God, that You assist me in giving myself to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
