Our God is the “King of Nations,” setting up kings and removing them from power as He pleases. And He turns the hearts of kings as the rivers of water, whichever was he pleases. Though God allows many nations now to be ruled by ungodly leaders, their time will come to an end, and it will be found that even they, though unknowingly, furthered God’s purposes.
And we pray:
You, O Lord, are King of kings and Lord of lords. The heathen nations may rage and wish to remove You, O Christ, from Your Throne, but they cannot prevail. You will reign on the Earth in righteousness. You will dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel (Psalm 2). But we will rejoice in Your sovereign rule, even now, while we pray for Your Kingdom to come, in Jesus name, Amen.
