For a reason Saul was born and named after his predecessor – king Saul of Israel. Similarities? Yes! But awesome differences. A change from one who brought charges and trials to one who surmounted every Trial by the awesome grace of God!

In Acts 13:9, Saul is called “Paul” for the first time on the island of Cyprus—much later than the time of his conversion.
