Dead? To sin, Amen.

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Romans 6:2

For he who has died is freed from sin. Romans 6:7

Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:11

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who Loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees… Colossians 2:20

Our salvation is eternal. Christ had eternity in mind when he died and resurrected for us. He died on our behalf so that we wouldn’t have to face eternal damnation. We have been united with Christ forever and nothing can change that. God doesn’t have any secret conditions that He will whip out on the last day. No. God’s arms are open wide, ready to embrace every single one of His children who has chosen to follow Him – forever.

And we pray:

Dear God, I am comforted by the fact that I am eternally Yours. Lord, I thank You for what Your son, Jesus Christ, did for me. I would not be able to call You my Father if it weren’t for Christ. Thank You, Lord, for this eternal gift and the heavenly inheritance I can be confident in. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
