Paul’s message here is one of my favorites in the Bible: instead of thinking of the old decrees telling you what NOT to do, think instead of what you SHOULD do. “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” An important aspect that is often overlooked is whether or not you love yourself. Not causing harm to others and trying to love other people makes it much easier to love yourself. Leave everything else to God!

Abba Father, I have forgotten this simple message more times than I could count. I have transgressed against enemies, strangers, friends, and family, often doing so out of selfish pride. Forgive me for these sins, my Lord! I am asking, God, I am knocking and ask that You open the door for me. I am thankful for every moment that I have with You, my rock and my strength. Amen.
