– Rejoice evermore.
– Pray without ceasing.
– In every thing give thanks: for this is The Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
No, we are not to thank God for everything, but in ALL things give thanks. Clearly we give thanks for all the blessings. We also recognize bad things do not come from God, but with God, we do not have to be controlled by those bad events; we go through them. We give thanks for that freedom to not be overwhelmed by our grief, fear or anger. God is the Author of every good gift we experience in life and we thank him for these gifts. The Bible says, “give thanks in all circumstances … ” (1 Thessalonians 5:16). God’s Word also teaches us to “rejoice in the Lord always … ” (Philippians 4:4).
– Quench not The Spirit.
– Despise not prophesyings.
– Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
– Abstain from all appearance of evil.
In practicing and living as such, The very God of peace sanctify you wholly, Amen.
I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-23
