Here Jesus talks to His Father in one of His final prayers on this Earth. In this verse, He refers to the work He has completed. He knows that His time on Earth has come to an end. He has reviewed His life and He says, essentially, “Father, I’ve done the best I can. There is nothing more for me to do here. I’ve prepared them as well as possible. It’s time to do this thing I came here to do.” And with that, it begins. The greatest act of Love known to Mankind is about to unfold.
And we pray:
Lord, I thank You for what You did for me at Calvary. You gave Your life for me. You Loved me unconditionally. You suffered and died for me. Help me to be worthy of Your sacrifice. Amen.
