How many of you have taken communion without giving it much thought at all? I have certainly drank the blood and tasted the body of Christ more in a ceremonial sense rather than a truly powerful and thoughtful experience. We take communion as a reminder that Christ is our strength and our redeemer. His sacrifice forgives our sins and his sacrifice needs to be remembered. This verse helps illustrate the importance of Christ’s sacrifice.
Dearest Father, bring light to my darkened soul. Help me keep You in my heart, O Lord, my Rock and Redeemer, this day and always. Forgive me for sinning, but know that I shall not forget the sacrifice that You made by sending Your only begotten Son to shed His blood and sacrifice His body so that we may live. In The name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray to You today. Amen.
