Writing to the Romans, Paul asks for prayer. He asks them to pray he would be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea so that he can come to them. Paul recognizes that whether or not he comes to them is up to the will of God. Paul hopes that he can go so that he can be refreshed. It is good to ask fellow believers to pray for you, and communing with other believers can refresh you.
Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. Acts 16:6
And we pray:
Lord, I pray for those in the church who are facing persecution. Give them strength and never let them forsake You. Protect them from harm, and soften the hearts of their persecutors. Bring the Church’s persecutors to You like how You brought Paul to You. That way You will be glorified, and people will see Your greatness magnified. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
