Jesus only did things by the guidance of God Who sent Him…

When His friend Lazarus died; Jesus prayed that God would be glorified. In this day and age we for the most part have all heard the story…

Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odour, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” So they took away the stone.

“And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.” John 11:38-44

Jesus sought and did The Father’s will. He did not seek His own will. He listened to The Father’s instruction always because He was sent by The Father. Just as Jesus followed The Father’s will, so we should seek to do The Father’s will. Just as Jesus was selfless, so we should pray we become more like Him. Praying that our will conforms to the Father’s will.

And we pray “here on Earth as it is in Heaven” very weighted words! Do we truly understand what we pray? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.crosswalk.com/faith/spiritual-life/how-can-we-live-on-earth-as-it-is-in-heaven.html%3famp=1

And we pray:

Heavenly Father, let Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. I want Your will for my life, not my own will. Guide me and direct my steps. Do not let me stray from Your ways. Give me direction and let me always follow You. Thank You for sending Your Son, and for Jesus doing Your will perfectly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
