When we fix our minds of the goodness of God, it enables us to rise above the afflictions and the troubles we may face. Whenever he was in times of great trouble, Paul resorted to praising God, and in that praise, he found strength. Praise brings about joy, and the joy of The Lord, Jesus Christ, is our strength.
And we pray:
Dear God, there are times where I may feel weak or I feel that I may not be able to carry on. But whenever I choose to dwell on Your goodness and Who You are, Lord, my heart is glad. I find strength when I think of Your faithfulness, Father, and I ask that You will continue to encourage me when times get tough. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
