In contrast to what may have often been called the ‘dark ages’ of Medieval times, it may perhaps be possible to argue that today, a new ‘dark age’ has befallen much of the world. As in the days of Sodom, the light of salvation still shined as divinely as ever, though its inhabitants ignored and were blind to it. Today, challenges to ones faith are everywhere, just as it was with Lot. However, for those who are fortunate enough to have Christ within their hearts, we may consider ourselves its chosen people, as a new nation of light; not limited by geography and distance, but instead brought together by faith.
And we pray:
My Lord and Savior, share with me Your Love for all of mankind. With this Love, grant me the will to spread Your Word and salvation, as pure as an Apostle. Give me strength in prayer, so that all who wish to listen may flood into Your arms through the gates of Heaven. Make of my body a vessel, upon which is inscribed Your word. Grant me the strength to do Your work, and in doing so, gain greater unity with You. Amen.
