The Last Supper is the final meal that, in the Gospel accounts, Jesus shared with His apostles in Jerusalem before His crucifixion. The Last Supper provides the scriptural basis for the Eucharist, also known as “Holy Communion” or “The Lord’s Supper”.
Subtext: Jesus was sent as a mortal, His temptations underline this:
1. Turn stone to bread – Hunger.
2. Jump from the temple – Safety, disobeying The Law.
3. Kneel before Satan and give him honor as king of this Earth – Pride; Giving honor to a being beside God. And the father of lies said he would give what is and was not his to give.
