Any land without the knowledge of Christ is in deep darkness. And any land that knows about Him but turnes away from that knowledge, snuffs out its own candle and dooms itself to walk in utter darkness. The Gentile nations were all of them lost in utter heathen darkness, but God sent forth the light of the Gospel all around the world to enlighten their darkness and bring life and hope where there had been none.
And we pray:
O Lord Jesus, my life and my heart would be in darkness without You; and my nation would be all darkness, and the whole world complete darkness, without You. Man invents his philosophies and religions which he calls “light,” but that is the deepest darkness of all. I praise You that I have seen the true Light and been transformed by it. I claim You as my Lord and Savior, Amen.
