Moses assured Israel, on the verge of their entering the promised land, that Jehovah would fight for them in conquering the land of Canaan even as He had fought for them in bringing them out of bondage in Egypt, by His mighty power. Even so, He Whose power saved us will also enable us to live a victorious in Christ.
And we pray:
O God, You alone saved me and put me on the path of righteousness. You are the Captain of my salvation. Even as Joshua (Hebrew form of the name “Jesus” translated into English) led Israel victoriously into Canaan, so also Jesus Your Son leads His (Body) The Church from victory to victory, overthrowing Satan’s kingdom. We are confident in Your leadership of our lives. Help us to follow You and fight for Your glory, Amen.
