Religion? Dwell on The Word.

When we buy a new TV or electronic, it comes with instructions. Usually detailed. If there are no instrucyions, we return the goods. Why? No instuctions, no work. PERIOD. We live this life with ancowners manual. This time the equipment is you. So lets look at a few things:

  1. If electronic, you definitely have to keep away from water sources. Keep it dry.
  2. If an exercise piece of equipment, we must keep it clean, or else we know what could happen.
  3. If on a trip, there are warnings on where not to go. Where to step and not step, so you can thouroughly enjoy your vacation.

This applies to us. We have an instruction manual. No matter what religion. There is The Bible for Christians, The Torah for or Jewish brethren, The Koran for Muslims, TAO-TE-CHING: Taoism is the religion of China and the holy book of Taosim is Tao-te-ching , FIVE CLASSICS: China also had another religion called Confucianism. The holy books of Confucianism are called Five Classics. They are very historical as they were written even before 300 B.C. Upanishads are religious texts of the Hindus. The Hindu religion is very widely followed all over the world and was basically originated in India. There are exactly 112 Upanishads in Hindu religion. The Upanishads describe the relationship of your souls with the God; or in the language of the book, it describes the union of Brahman (pure soul) with the atman (your soul).
Veda is one of the many holy books of Hindu religion. It has all the collected Hindu prayers and chants, hymns and mantras. The book is said to have defined the real meaning of the eternal God. There are four types of Vedas in Hinduism and are divided as per the historical occurrences of the books. They are: Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Hindu Vedas were written in text, somewhere between 100 B.C. and 500 B.C. and very old form of literature mostly written in Sanskrit language.
Tripitakas are the books of knowledge of the Buddhism religion. They are famous as the baskets of knowledge about Buddhist teachings. The chapters written in the book are known as Mahayana Sutras and also sutta pitaka, Adhidharma and Vinaya. The book explains and describes about the relation between the internal soul and the external soul.
Shreemad Bhagavad Gita is the holy book of the Hindus. In Hindu religion, this book is the most sacred and holy out of all the literatures available in this religion. The book is written in the form of dialogues between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, the prince. The conversation explains a lot about the basic concepts of life and truth. It states that one can meet God or one can be united with God after it does excellent in Karma(deeds), Bhakti(devotion) and Gyan(Knowledge). It has lessons about the way a person must lead his life, do good deeds such as helping others, thank God for everything, and learn from everything you do.

So I have outlined most if not all the ‘instruction manuals’. Similarities??? I will allow you to be the judges.

In life all Christians will make mistakes, but we should all desire to use our mistakes for good and learn from them. Ask yourself are you gaining wisdom from your mistakes? Sometimes our own mistakes are a reason for trials and tribulations that happen in our life. I remember in my own life when I followed the wrong voice and I did my will instead of God’s will. This caused me to lose a few thousand dollars and go through very hard times.

This mistake I made taught me to pray fiercely before making big decisions and continually weigh my motives. God was faithful through this terrible times where it was all my fault. He held me up and got me through it, glory to God. We are to grow in faith and get stronger in The Lord so we can make fewer mistakes. As a child grows and gets wiser we are to do the same in Christ. Ways to help learn from mistakes are praying continually, walking by The Spirit, Whom The Father sent after and since Christ ascended, continue to meditate on The Word of God, put on the full armor of God, be humble, and trust The Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
Don’t keep returning to those mistakes.

  1. Proverbs 26:11-12 Like a dog that returns to its vomit, a fool does the same foolish things again and again. People who think they are wise when they are not are worse than fools.
  2. 2 Peter 2:22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Forget! Don’t dwell on them which can be dangerous, but instead press forward.

  1. Philippians 3:13 Brothers and sisters, I know that I still have a long way to go. But there is one thing I do: I forget what is in the past and try as hard as I can to reach the goal before me.
  2. Isaiah 43:18-19 Don’t remember the prior things; don’t ponder ancient history. Look! I’m doing a new thing; now it sprouts up; don’t you recognize it? I’m making a way in the desert, paths in the wilderness. The beasts of the field, the jackals and ostriches, will honor me, because I have put water in the desert and streams in the wilderness to give water to my people, my chosen ones.

Get up! Never give up after a mistake, but instead learn from it and keep going.

  1. Proverbs 24:16 For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.
  2. Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
  3. Philippians 3:14-16 The goal I pursue is the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus. So all of us who are spiritually mature should think this way, and if anyone thinks differently, God will reveal it to him or her. Only let’s live in a way that is consistent with whatever level we have reached.

Gain wisdom from it

  1. Proverbs 15:21-23 Foolishness brings joy to one without sense, but a man with understanding walks a straight path. Plans fail when there is no counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. A man takes joy in giving an answer; and a timely word—how good that is!
  2. Proverbs 14:16-18 A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of evil devices is hated. The naive inherit foolishness, But the sensible are crowned with knowledge.
  3. Proverbs 10:23-25 Doing wrong is like play to a fool, but a man of understanding has wisdom. What the sinful man is afraid of will come upon him, and what is wanted by the man who is right with God will be given to him. When the storm passes, the sinful man is no more, but the man who is right with God has a place to stand forever.

Don’t deny your mistakes

  1. 1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing securely should watch out so he doesn’t fall.
  2. Psalm 30:6-10 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. To you, O Lord, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy: “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!”

God is near

  1. Psalm 37:23-26 The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.
  2. Proverbs 23:18 Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
  3. Psalm 54:4 Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
  4. Psalm 145:13-16 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
  5. Isaiah 41:10-13 Don’t worry—I am with you. Don’t be afraid—I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will support you with my right hand that brings victory. Look, some people are angry with you, but they will be ashamed and disgraced. Your enemies will be lost and disappear. You will look for the people who were against you, but you will not be able to find them. Those who fought against you will disappear completely. I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand. And I tell you, ‘Don’t be afraid! I will help you.’ Confess your sins
  6. 1 John 1:9-10 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
  7. Isaiah 43:25 “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

  1. Ephesians 5:15-17 So be careful how you live. Live as men who are wise and not foolish. Make the best use of your time. These are sinful days. Do not be foolish. Understand what the Lord wants you to do.
  2. Proverbs 3:5-8 Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth. Do not consider yourself wise. Fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. Then your body will be healed, and your bones will have nourishment.
  3. James 1:5-6 But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind.
  4. Psalm 119:105-107 Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. I took an oath, and I will keep it. I took an oath to follow your regulations, which are based on your righteousness. I have suffered so much. Give me a new life, O Lord, as you promised.

Reminders: Romans 8:28-30 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan. This is true because he already knew his people and had already appointed them to have the same form as the image of his Son. Therefore, his Son is the firstborn among many children. He als
