Jesus here reminds the Father that He has done His best to make God known to the people. Everything He does in the days of His ministry, and even before, He does by giving full credit to His Father. He says here that He will continue to make the Father known. His desire is not that we see the sacrifice of the Son, but that we see the glory of the Father.
And we pray:
Jesus, I thank You for making The Father known to me. I thank You for reconciling me with The Creator, to Whom I was lost, but for Your sacrifice. You gave Your life to give me mine, and I dedicate all my days to making You known. Amen.
