Our fear of The LORD is based on our knowledge of His Love, mercy, and goodness. It rests on The fact that God is our Heavenly Father, our Creator, our Source and it is our desire to please Him. Our fear is healthy, good, respectful, and driven by our Love for God.
This gift of the Holy Spirit gives us the desire not to offend God, as well as the certainty that God will supply us the grace that we need in order to keep from offending Him. Our desire not to offend God is more than simply a sense of duty; like piety, the fear of the Lord arises out of Love.
fearing The Lord will give you wisdom (Psalm 111:10). Second, fearing The Lord will keep you from sin (Exodus 20:20). And third, fearing The Lord will motivate you in evangelism (2 Corinthians 5:11). All kinds of good will flow into the life of the person who fears The Lord.
