The Israelites dwelled in Egypt for 430 years (Exodus 12:40-41), If 1446 B.C. be accepted as the approximate date of the exodus, then the entry of the Israelites into Egypt must have taken place about 1876 B.C. (1446-430=1876), 430 years being the length of the sojourn in Egypt (Exodus 12:40,41; Galatians 3:17).
We have discussed the concept of ‘Time’ explaining it as a ‘wordly’/Earth thing for so many reasons… To re-address a concept that has been shared. What ‘Time’ is it in Heaven?
Time is one of the many dimensions in the Universe. In fact, the geometry of the Universe is often called the space-time continuum. The three dimensions of space and the time dimension are linked together and are affected by one another. Einstein’s General Theory of Relatively discusses the relationship of these dimensions. There may be numerous additional dimensions that are either linked to these four dimensions tightly or loosely.
The Bible teaches that God created the Universe and all its dimensions. That being the case heaven is not restricted by the dimensions of our universe, and that includes time. Of course, heaven may have its own set of dimensions and some of those might well be spatial and temporal, but they are not the same as those in our universe and they are not connected in any way.
This means that God and whoever else is in heaven would not experience space and time the way we would, if at all. There may be space and time in heaven, but it would have no relationship to our universe. One part of heaven would be no “closer” than another, nor would time move forward, or backward, in the same fashion as in our universe. The idea of before and after might have no meaning in heaven. It could all be the eternal now.
It could be quite easy for God to be anywhere in our universe at any time, or everywhere at all times. This is true because there would be no relationship between the space-time of heaven and the space-time of our universe. In fact, that would be true for any being that could transcend the “barrier” between heaven and our universe.
It’s kind of like standing in front of a bookshelf that contains history books. You can open any book and read about pre-historic or modern history, or anything in between simply by picking up the desired book. Or like being in front of a map of the Earth where you can point to any place on the Earth as easily as any other. The only difference is that God has the ability to enter into history “real time” and interact with any part of the Universe at any time. Such “transcendence” is quite powerful. It’s a good thing that God Loves us.
We share this again for those waiting on The LORD. We can never know what is ahead, we may be stilled for a moment (we do not see it as such!) But, God Who has written your story Knows ALL.
And we shared:
The question of God’s relation to time has generated a great amount of theological and philosophical reflection. The traditional view has been that God is timeless in the sense of being outside time altogether; that is, He exists but does not exist at any point in time and He does not experience temporal succession.
God knows what He’s doing. He won’t let you be cut back without a purpose. It may look like a bad break, but if you’ll keep the right attitude, you’ll see how it works out to your advantage. God knows when to prune; He knows when to take something away. It’s not to hinder you but to promote you. You’re being pruned so you can bear much fruit. Get ready for the new things God is about to do. Get ready for new levels of God’s favor. Get ready for abundance.
And we pray:
Are You. ALL glory as we lay at Your feet. We ask to be washed pure with The blood of Jesus, Amen. We confess our sin and failings and ask that You forgive us and strengthen our spirits to always turn to You at all times. Father, to You we owe constant gratitude for the blessing of life, by Your grace we breath, Amen. In all things we praise You. Temptations make us stronger in You as we stand in Your Word. Move us to stand rooted in You, Amen. We speak to you in our hearts and ask that we may ceaselessly approach Your Essence. Renew us, Fill us, Bless us, Amen. We cannot imagine the awesomeness that You have placed on our path for us, Hallelujah!!! Use us LORD, Amen.
