Amen.

In this passage of scripture the Apostle Paul is writing to the Romans a prayer of hope and peace that is found in God alone.

Peace and joy are two of the nine fruit of the Spirit.

When we have hope in something, we wait with expectation of that which is to come.

This hope that the Apostle Paul speaks about originates from God who is the author and finisher of our faith.

God is a spirit and the joy and peace that the Apostle Paul says is given to those who trust in God  happens in a supernatural way by the power of God’s Holy Spirit who indwells the believer.

This hope that God gave us at the point of salvation, we do not have to go in search of because we already have it in us. The bible declares that our body is the temple of the Lord. It is in these earthen vessels of human flesh is where God’s treasure called the “Holy Spirit” resides.

The Holy Spirit does not live inside of every human. You must be born again to have given such a “Gift”. If you are not born again, this “Gift” is available to you by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The “Gift of God” that is in us has to be stirred up! 2 Timothy 1:6a- Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.

The joy and peace described by the Apostle Paul that is given to the believer is not based on feelings and does not come from the world. Everything that the world has to offer is temporary and short lived, whereas God’s supernatural filling is eternal.

Regardless of what situation or circumstance we may find ourselves in as the people of God, we have hope in God.

God is the author of joy and peace. He has given us eternal life through a personal and intimate relationship with Him through Christ Jesus.

This supernatural life of peace and joy we daily experience is by faith and the more we obey God’s Word, the more we find ourselves being filled with joy, peace and God’s hope that spills out into the natural realm of our lives.

Jesus left us with these words in John 14:27- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

Psalm 25:3 Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal try to deceive others will be ashamed.

People of God as you continue to place your hope and trust in the Lord your God, you can find peace and rest in all circumstances because it is your God who is the lifter of your head above all things and it is Him who is sustaining you in them all.

As the Apostle Paul prayed for the Romans, I pray for you all on today that you are filled to overflowing with the joy and peace of God which is already yours and is in you.

I pray that God’s power, His joy and peace be forever stirred up within you and overflow from you as you daily walk in obedience to God and in fellowship with Him.

Father God we thank you for making us overflow with hope as we daily put our trust in You and your promise to your people.

People of God, remember, “JOY AND PEACE LIVES IN YOU”!
