Hearing The Word of God…

Now The LORD had said unto Abram, “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the Earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3

“Bosom of Abraham” refers to the place of comfort in the biblical Sheol where the righteous dead abided prior to Jesus’ resurrection.

The Word made flesh – Jesus!!! Alleluia all glory to God, Amen.

“Abraham’s Bosom” Luke 16:22, a special place that was set apart from the rest of hell by a great gap or gulf. This arrangement was temporary, because after Jesus died, he went to Abraham’s Bosom and led those who were there into Heaven.

Your Prayers Are Tested

  • Does God test us? Consider Genesis 22:1-18; Job 23:10; Psalm 66:10-12; and Isaiah 48:10.
  • What is the purpose of His testing? See Deuteronomy 8:2, 16.
  • How was Martha tested in John 11:1-6?
  • What was the reason for her test, according to John 11:17-27, 38-44?
  • How did God test the seriousness of His people’s prayer in Ezra 10:9?
  • How did God test the sincerity of His people’s repentance? See Ezra 10:10-12.
  • Give phrases from the following verses that indicate God requires seriousness in prayer and repentance: Joel 2:12-14; Jeremiah 29:12-13.

How have your prayers been tested?

The peace of God in our hearts is one of the most important ways that God speaks to us daily. Through His peace, He guides us situationally, just as an umpire directs a game situation by situation. As we pray for direction from the Lord, in many cases He doesn’t answer by saying something to us.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God Romans 10:17.

1 Kings 19, the prophet Elijah encounters God through a “still, small” voice. This is the best way to describe God’s voice in our lives. God’s voice is profoundly audible, though it isn’t always distinguishable by our physical ears.

God knows His purpose and destiny for us, and He doesn’t want us to get off track. He is protective and doesn’t want us to be harmed. Therefore, He uses circumstances to open doors for us and close doors to us.

“Lord, open doors for me that no man can close and close doors for me that no man can open until I am standing in Your perfect will for my life.”

God often uses people to speak to us. One of the primary people He uses is a wife or husband. God wants to remind us that we need each other. He also wants us to be humble and teachable in our relations with others.

John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God.

Jeremiah 33:3 – Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Amen, Hallelujah!!!

John 8:47 – He that is of God heareth God’s Words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Isaiah 30:21 – And thine ears shall hear a Word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

John 16:13 – Howbeit when He, The Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

Luke 11:28 – But He said, “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear The Word of God, and keep it.”

Hebrews 4:12 – For The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

John 14:16-17 – “And I will pray The Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.”

Psalms 32:8-9 – “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine Eye.”

John 6:63 – “It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

James 1:19-27 – Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

John 14:26 – But The Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost, Whom The Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Hebrews 2:1 – Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

1 Kings 19:11-13 – And He said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before The LORD. And, behold, The LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before The LORD; but The LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but The LORD was not in the earthquake…

Romans 8:14 – For as many as are led by The Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Amen.

And we pray:

LORD Heavenly Father, I need You in my life always, Amen. My story has been written; You Know all, Guide me, Direct me, Fill me with Your Spirit, Touch me LORD, Bless me. My life is Yours, Amen. For a reason, I am – Hallelujah! Teach me to hear and listen to Your Word for and in my life. I wash and cleanse myself in The blood of Jesus, shed for me, Hallelujah!!! Father, I ask that Your will be done in my life. Amen.
