Interestingly; we are KEENLY aware of the name of the son of Sarah! Can anyone tell me a name of one of Peninah’s children?

When Hannah gave birth to Samuel,
Peninah’s mouth became silent. May God give you a Miracle that will silence your mockers, Amen.

Many overlook fact. Right kwik, let us scroll back in ‘time’:

Peninnah would upset Hannah and make her feel bad. She did this because The Lord had made Hannah unable to have children. This happened every year when they went up to the Tent of The Lord at Shiloh. Peninnah would upset Hannah until Hannah would cry and not eat anything. Her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you crying? Why won’t you eat? Why are you sad? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?” Once, after they had eaten their meal in Shiloh, Hannah got up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on a chair near the entrance to the Lord’s Holy Tent. Hannah was very sad. She cried much and prayed to The Lord. She made a promise. She said, “Lord of Heaven’s armies, see how bad I feel. Remember me! Don’t forget me. If You will give me a son, I will give him back to You all his life. And no one will ever use a razor to cut his hair.” While Hannah kept praying, Eli watched her mouth. She was praying in her heart. Her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk. He said to her, “Stop getting drunk! Throw away your wine!” Hannah answered, “No, master, I have not drunk any wine or beer. I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I was telling The Lord about all my problems. Don’t think of me as an evil woman. I have been praying because of my many troubles and much sadness.” Eli answered, “Go in peace. May The God of Israel give you what you asked of Him.” Hannah said, “I want to be pleasing to you always.” Then she left and ate something. She was not sad anymore. Early the next morning Elkanah’s family got up and worshiped The Lord. Then they went back home to Ramah. Elkanah had intimate relations with his wife Hannah. And The Lord Remembered her. So Hannah became pregnant! Hallelujah, glory to God!!! Remember, there is a cause for every occurrnce! And in time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel. She said, “His name is Samuel because I asked The Lord for him.”

Every year Elkanah went to Shiloh to offer sacrifices. He went to keep the promise he had made to God. He brought his whole family with him. So once again he went up to Shiloh. But Hannah did not go with him. She told him, “When the boy is old enough to eat solid food, I will take him to Shiloh. Then I will give him to The Lord. He will become a Nazirite. He will always live there at Shiloh.” Elkanah, Hannah’s husband, said to her, “Do what you think is best. You may stay home until the boy is old enough to eat. May The Lord do what you have said.” So Hannah stayed at home to nurse her son until he was old enough to eat. When Samuel was old enough to eat, Hannah took him to the Tent of The Lord at Shiloh. She also took a three-year-old bull, one-half bushel of flour and a leather bag filled with wine. They killed the bull for the sacrifice. Then Hannah brought Samuel to Eli. She said to Eli, “As surely as you live, my master, I am the same woman who stood near you praying to The Lord. I prayed for this child. The Lord answered my prayer and gave him to me. Now I give him back to The Lord. He will belong to The Lord all his life.” And he worshiped The Lord there.

Amazing, the story of Israel was written eons before Hannah cried to The Lord! Samuel was the last prophet: Samuel was a great prophet of the Old Testament. He was a bridge, a connecting link, between the patriarchs, judges and the kings. Of note, when the Israelites cried out that they who were God’s chosen people desired to be like other nations with a physical ruler/leader/king… https://www.theologyofwork.org/old-testament/samuel-kings-chronicles-and-work/from-tribal-confederation-to-monarchy-1-samuel/the-israelites-ask-for-a-king-1-samuel-84-22

Man’s choice when not led by The Spirit of God is at times Allowed. The key to good success:

Before sharing the keys for success it is important for you to know and believe God wants you to succeed!  Does that surprise you? Do you doubt God wants you to be successful?  Many people do, but Joshua 1:8 says, “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (NLT).

God Designed You to Succeed

God designed you to succeed.  He did not create you to be a loser.  Many don’t believe God wants them to succeed.  Some go as far as to say, “it’s not God’s will for them to be successful”. However, the Bible is very clear – God wants His children to succeed.  What father would not want his children to be successful?   God is the most loving and awesome Father and He wants the best for you.  He has good plans for you and for your future. (Jeremiah 29:11) “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)

What is Real Success

The problem is most don’t know what real success is. Success is usually defined in financial terms.  However, real success is not found in possessions, power, or in great accomplishments, or any of the external things the world defines as success.  Biblical success is becoming who God created you to be, doing what God created you to do, and possessing what God wants you to have. It is only then that you experience true fulfillment, peace, and joy.  This is what real Biblical success is.  Ultimately God will judge our success.  Life is about serving the King of Kings and following Him and His plan for life not keeping up with the Jones or pleasing the and meeting world expectations.  When you do that you will experience true success in life.

God’s Success Plan

Does God’s Word tell us how we can succeed? Absolutely.  He provides in His Word the instruction and terms of success.  There is no mistake what the Bible says.  The only question is whether you believe it or not. In 3 John 1:2, we find one huge key to success in life: “just as your soul prospers.” In other words, a soul that is prospering or thriving is what causes all other areas of your life to thrive!

Having an intimate relationship with the creator of heaven and earth is absolute for a successful life. The only way to know God is through Jesus.  Jesus is the foundation of life. He is the way, the truth, and life. (John 14:6) “It is in Him we live and move and have our being.”  (Acts 17:28) It is in and through Jesus, we find real success.  He is the source of all things.  Jesus is the CORNERSTONE KEY for true success.

  1. CHARACTER

Character is what makes the next three keys of success work.  If your character is built strong and true, it will support you in all you do.  If we develop God’s holy and righteous character, knowing what is right and habitually doing it, we will be prepared for some of the most difficult situations that life will bring us. The key components of Godly character are humility and integrity.  Godly character is key to the next three keys of success.

  1. WISDOM

Godly wisdom is the master key to success.  “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”  (Proverbs 4:7) When God told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted, and it would be given to him he asked for wisdom.  God told Solomon “you have made a wise choice”.  (Kings 3) With wisdom comes knowledge and understanding.  Wisdom comes from the Lord.  Colossians 2:3 say “in whom (Jesus) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  Godly wisdom is the MASTER KEYof success.

  1. STEWARDSHIP

God owns everything.  Everything belongs to God and he’s letting you borrow it for a while. He expects you to treat all his stuff with care and wisdom. This means to be a good steward of the resources He puts in your life.  He expects us to be generous and not squander or misuse what He provides and allows us to possess.  Stewardship guards against greed and other traps of success.  Stewardship is the BALANCING KEY of success.

  1. FAITH (word)

If you don’t know God wants you to be successful or if you don’t believe He wants you to be successful you will not have faith to be successful. You can only have faith where you know the will of God. God wants you to be successful, but you need to believe – have faith in His plan for your life.  Faith is how you receive the provision of God.  God has provided everything you need for success in life.  You just have to receive them.  Faith is how you do that.  Faith is the key that UNLOCKS GOD’S PROMISES that provide the resources needed for success.

God wants you to succeed!  Keep your soul healthy and always remember God’s purpose for your success.  Learn how to use these 5 keys for success and you will be able to unlock the treasures of God’s provision. Ignore any or all at your own peril.  God is watching over you.  Success is not a destination it’s a journey. Ultimately God will judge our success.  Remember Godly success is what you are destined for – becoming who God created you to be, doing what God Created you to do, and possessing what God wants you to have.

Ask God to give you wisdom and direction. James 1:5 states, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, Who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” That is incredibly good news. God wants to give you a purpose, you were Created for a reason/purpose; keep it in focus after praying it revealed.

And we pray:

God, lead me to effectively balance my time, energy and resources between fulfilling my purpose and other priorities in life. Lord, make me sensitive to the leading of The Holy Spirit to guide me in what You want me to do next on my path of purpose, Amen.

ways that honor him when you have friends around you that encourage you in your walk with the Lord. Seek out a community at church that will hold you accountable and be able to give you godly council.

5. Obey the Truth

Know what is written in the Bible and follow the way He calls you to live. Live by the commandments and intentionally be an example of what a Christ follower should be.

Being an adult in today’s modern age comes with a set of challenges and pressure, but God qualifies us through our shortcomings just like He qualified Moses when He called upon him to lead the Israelites and stand up to the pharaoh. If God has placed the desire in your heart, then He will qualify you to do that exact thing. He will be there to walk alongside you and aid you in the areas of your own shortcomings.
