I am rendered speechless when I mull His-story! Airplanes to space-craft – we flew to the moon; landed on the moon, have piloted to Mars…our dreams and accomplishments as Mankind are AMAZING!
Mars 2020 is a Mars rover mission forming part of NASA’s Mars Exploration Program that includes the rover Perseverance, the small robotic, coaxial helicopter Ingenuity, and associated delivery vehicles.
Where are we from? What are we?
Can, will we find anything ‘like’ us in this Universe? Answer: we are Man-kind Created in God’s Image! Outside this Universe, there is, will be no need for intimacy – a complex concept, but to ease down that pill: The differences at this current time are so we can populate and care for the Earth. To naysayers; Adam the first caretaker for Earth was Created alone. To provide a God directed but huMan progeny; Eve was Created from Adam.
Yes! Evolution does not fully explain the ability of two genders. If we truly dwell on this there is the physical/natural and supernatural! Physical came from The supernatural which is above us!
What does supernatural mean in the Bible?
Of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe especially of or relating to God or a god, demigod, spirit, or devil.
In ancient times, when the bulk of our scriptures were written, humans did not make the distinction between “natural” and “supernatural” causes. Although the words “super” and “natura” are Latin, the Romans didn’t have a word “supernaturalis.” This word was coined in Modern times. The Oxford English Dictionary records that the word “supernatural” first appears in English in 1526.
This is because the ancients had substantially less understanding of natural mechanisms for everything from physics to meteorology to biology. And so the sun, the moon, the river running through your city, fate, fortune, death — these were all seen as divine forces, indeed, these were all revered as gods.
For ancient and Medieval Christians, even when an immediate cause was known, natural philosophers affirmed that the ultimate cause of everything, the “First Cause” is God.
But in modern times, as science better understood natural mechanisms, people invented the category of “supernatural” to house unexplained phenomena. Instead of looking for God’s miracles in the universe that was better understood, they relegated God to the phenomena that were unexplained, equating miracles with physical magic. This approach was known as looking for “God in the gaps.” That is, although science could explain much of the universe, there were still “gaps.” After many centuries those gaps are much smaller than they once were and so I think we can say conclusively that it was an intellectual dead end to relegate God to the gaps.
People continue to crave physical magic. Superhero movies dominate global blockbusters. In census surveys here in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, hundreds of thousands of people have listed their religion as “Jedi.” And who doesn’t want to be able to do Jedi mind-tricks or to have telekinetic powers?
Despite many centuries of looking for God in the gaps, of earnest people mistakenly believing in supernatural physical magic, I believe and I testify to you that knowing the real God is about the difficult work of knowing about the actual universe and the workings of this world. It’s the work of understanding humanity and society and why some of our actions cause harm, while others can allow us to achieve greater equity, less bigotry, more justice, less violence, and we seek to fulfill Christ’s mission and realize our shared goal of bringing about the Peaceable Kingdom of God on earth.
And we pray:
Wise and Eternal God, open my mind to Your Wisdom and my heart to Your gracious Presence. I trust my all-ways and always with You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
When you truly sit and consider ‘advances’ – impressive! ALL is Known by The Creator of ALL! The His-Story of Mankind is Known! I am utterly smitten when I read The Word and am made to clearly see and experience the concept of ‘Time.’ Difficult to grasp, but with God, there is NO ‘Time’! What we experience as ‘Time’ is the Earth circling a star! God is far beyond and above this ‘sphere’!!
We pray currently and ‘hope’ to recieve what we ask for. Many things need to be considered! Is this your part/path? What ‘stands’ between your receiving from God what you have requested?
As, Daniel served in service after his experience in the lions den and he was returned to the service of the king.
Daniel’s great concern for his people is evident as he tells us about a vision given to him by The Lord. At the time of this vision, it is estimated Daniel was about 85 years old.
It had been about a year since almost 50,000 Jews went home to rebuild their country and the temple. He had probably heard the people faced obstacles in rebuilding the temple, and he knew that even under the best of circumstances they were faced with a huge undertaking.
Daniel believed God, but how would everything work out in light of the prophecy of Jeremiah? Would those people who returned to Israel trust God?
It was in this time when Daniel had such questions that the Lord gave a vision to the prophet and he was certain “the thing was true, but the time appointed was long.” He understood that he would not be able to see all of God’s plan unfold, but Daniel believed everything would happen according to the will of God. This is an illustration of our prayer life. We do not usually get immediate answers to prayer. Instead, God’s answers come according to His timing and that may span a long period of time.
Daniel fasted and prayed for three weeks, we need to be aware of why the period. After this season of prayer, he stood on the banks of the Tigris River where he saw a man who had a glorious appearance. This man’s presence was so powerful that the men who were with Daniel fled the scene even though they did not see the man.
Daniel said he was lying with his face to the ground when he felt someone touch him, and he was brought to his hands and knees. The man, who was an angel, told Daniel to stand up.
God heard Daniel’s prayer and it was in response to his prayer that the angel came to him in this vision. He would have been there earlier, the angel said, but he was detained for twenty-one days by “the prince of the kingdom of Persia.” We do not see the warfare that wages in the spiritual realm, but according to this there are fierce battles in which Satan and his forces try to disrupt the will of God.
The prince in Persia was there to stir up trouble for God’s people, and he would have stopped the angel who spoke to Daniel had it not been for the angel Michael, who came to his aid.
He came to tell Daniel “what shall befall thy people in the latter days.” Daniel said he became unable to speak and all his physical strength left him, but the angel touched him and restored his ability to speak and move.
What we learn from this Scripture about Daniel’s experience is interesting, but what does it say to us? In the first place, the importance of prayer cannot be over-emphasized. We ought to take it seriously and know that God hears and responds to us. God cares deeply for us and responds to our needs.
We started off with a discourse on a LEGO ‘creation’ considering all that needs to be done! Earth population 7.753 billion (2020) that is almost 8 billion individual needs to ‘handle’. It has been Known from the start! The end is Known!
The Bible is always completely accurate, including its prophetic content. Consider, for instance, the prophecy that Christ would be born in Bethlehem of Judea, as foretold in Micah 5:2. Micah gave his prophecy around 700 B.C. Where was Christ born seven centuries later? In Bethlehem of Judea (Luke 2:1-20; Matthew 2:1-12).
Peter Stoner, in Science Speaks, has shown that coincidence in prophetic Scripture is ruled out by the science of probability. Taking just eight prophecies concerning Christ, Stoner found that the chance that any one man might have fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power. That would be 1 chance in 100,000,000,000,000,000. Of course, Jesus fulfilled many more than eight prophecies! There is no doubt that Bible is totally accurate in foretelling the future.
Since He can foretell the future, God certainly knows the future. Isaiah recorded these words about God: “Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9-10). God is the only One who can stand at the beginning and accurately declare the end.
God is omniscient; He knows everything actual and possible. God is also eternal (Psalm 90:2). As the eternal, omniscient God, He has lived our yesterdays, our todays, and our tomorrows, the past, present, and future. God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 21:6).
There are still prophecies in the Bible that await fulfillment. Because God knows the future, we can count on all the prophecies to eventually be fulfilled. Events are taking place in God’s calendar according to His plan. We know who holds the future—the one true, personal, eternal, and all-knowing God of the Bible.
Isaiah 46:9-11 tells us that God declares how things are going to turn out before they happen. He declares the end from the beginning and things that are not yet done. Then He goes on to tell us how He foreknows the end.
