The natural man is born God’s enemy, and is “at war” with God in his heart. But even while we were yet enemies, God sent his Son to die for us. Peace with God can only come when our sins which have offended him are dealt with, and that can only happen when the merit of Christ is applied to us. Then we are declared just before God by God Himself.
And we pray:
Thank You, Lord, for sending Your Son – Jesus to make peace with us, not by turning a blind eye to our sins but by paying for them on the cross. We know You are just and will be a just judge when You judge the world, what we sow that we shall reap. We pray for our neighbors and friends and family that they may run to You for mercy and find it while the door of mercy is still open, if they have not already found peace with You. Amen.
