Everything in moderation. Any wise person will tell you that too much of something is basically always a bad thing. Love is certainly an exception, but in order to achieve that amount of love, we must control the temptations of our flesh. Be temperate, sober, charitable, faithful, and patient.
And we pray:
Almighty God, I implore You to instill the values that You want in me. I have read Your commandments, but know that I am weak, O Lord. I am a sinner, but I am striving everyday to be more and more in Your likeness. Give me the strength to endure any temptations of the flesh, for these are fleeting and impermanent sins that lead to wickedness. Mold me in Your shape, as You did upon creation, my Lord. Amen.
