When we are born, we model ourselves mostly on our parents or siblings, seeing as these are some of the first people we are exposed to. So too, might we later model ourselves on Christ, or Christ’s image, who in turn was modeled on His Heavenly Father, who is infinite in His compassion. This is ultimately what our God wants; for it completes a virtuous circle.
And we pray:
Lord help me live in Your example, in what You have embodied for me in Jesus Christ our Lord and savior. I know I will never be as perfect as Him Lord, but grant me daily the strength to start and try again. To live in the example of Christ is to find You, the new followers, to bring in lovers of the righteous. In Your name I pray, Amen.
