What can you add to Jesus to make Him better? And what can you add to your salvation to make you even more saved? 🤔 Nothing at all!
“When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.”
Salvation comes entirely from what Jesus gives to us, not from what we bring ourselves. Our education, our upbringing, and our good works may all be good and useful, but none of them save us.
“I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the son.
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you
I can only imagine
I can only imagine.”
And we pray:
God, my salvation is in You alone. Help me not to rely on my own accomplishments and knowledge. Compared to You, they are worse than garbage. Help me to let go of my pride, and to use what You’ve given me only for Your purposes so that others see Your grace at work in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
