In Earthly terms, power and might are great assets. Kings and conquerors have achieved great victories by their own might alone. But Earthly power can only achieve Earthly things. God calls us to depend not on Earthly power and might, but on His Spirit, to do the work of His Kingdom for the sake of His glory.
And we pray:
Lord, help me to seek Your Spirit in all things, and depend not on my own power. Earthly power leads to corruption and pride, but You call me to bring glory to Your Name. I cannot do this by force or influence, but only through The leading of Your Spirit. So I lay down my power and ask that You lead me and work through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
