What makes us free? A constitution that enumerates freedoms? Sufficient wealth and health to do what we please? Or just our ‘own ‘attitude’?
None of these things offers the true freedom that we experience in knowing Jesus. Freedom from sin and its nagging guilt. Freedom from condemnation before God. Freedom to live for Christ instead of chasing righteousness that we will never achieve without Him.
And we pray:
Thank You, Jesus, for freeing me. You have unchained me from the sin that bound me. You have freed my heart from its cage of guilt because You have pardoned my sins. You have liberated me from enslavement to legalism. Lord, fill me with Your Spirit so that I may live fully and victoriously in Your freedom. In Your name I pray, Amen.
