Jesus said that the first and greatest commandment is to Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (EVERYTHING that you are.) Even before Jesus said that, we see in the Psalms encouragement to seek The Lord. God is always there just waiting for you to come to Him. He stands with open arms. Seek Him. He is strong and capable. He is beautiful and true. Seek Him every day for all of your days.
And we pray:
Heavenly Father, Your name is holy, and You will reign forever. Let Your will be done in my life, Amen. You care for me and are always there for me. Thank You for sending Your Son so that I can come into Your Presence. I want to seek You for all of my days. I want to know You, and I want to Love You more than I do now. Don’t let me grow complacent in my relationship with You. Always let me seek Your face. You will never leave or forsake me, never allow me to leave You. In Jesus’ name I pray,. Amen.
The word “continually” means “to repeat frequently, without interruption, constantly.”
What are the times when you have sought out the Lord the most?
In what seasons do we generally tend to run to God? For most of us, it’s during seasons of sorrow and pain that we tend to turn to God.
While the Lord is acquainted with grief and understands our suffering, what about when we are joyful and content?
The Lord longs for us to seek His face no matter the season, occasion, or situation.
After all, our God is a wondrous, beautiful, amazing God who is full of peace and joy!
Just like when we spend time with our loved ones on earth, we usually see them on all sorts of occasions. Most of the time, it’s to simply enjoy each other’s company.
The Lord longs the same for you and Him. It is His delight for you to seek Him in every season!
- Seek Him in your joy.
- Seek Him in your pain.
- Seek Him in your celebrations.
- Seek Him in your mourning.
- Seek Him when the sun sets.
- Seek Him when the sun rises!
He created you to walk with Him daily. He created you to dwell with Him continually.
He created you to be drawn to him not only in your pain, but also in your joy!
Today, take time to seek The Lord’s face. Ask and thank Him for drawing you to Him in all seasons of your life!
