We often find ourselves mired in daily struggles. We become bogged down with anxiety, stress and depression. We feel as though we are sinking deeper into a dark pit and find it difficult to get out. God is our Redeemer!!! Always just a prayer away! Think on this: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego about to be thrown into the furnace – held tight to faith! Simply refusing to bow down to an idol! The simplicity of the depth filled command! BUT, they received their leading from a separate sphere. Imagine: thousands of citizens gathered to see these “idiots…” disobey a royal order! “Serves them rigjt, whatever they are pumished with! They caused my day to be wasted! Serves them right! Actually, I will kinda enjoy them burned alive!”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are figures from the biblical Book of Daniel, primarily chapter 3. In the narrative, the three Jewish men are thrown into a fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar II, king of Babylon for refusing to bow to the king’s image.
When we call upon God, Jesus comes to our rescue by lifting our burdens, placing our feet back on track and nudging us to walk in the right direction. A testimony pending, Amen.
And we pray:
Oh God, You are our Refuge always and especially in times of darkness, ALL light comes from Your Essence. We are thankful for Your faithfulness and desire to Love us unconditionally. Father LORD, hold me tight, lift me up. Your will be done in my life I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
