Anyone can utter the words, “Jesus is Lord.” But only when those words come from a heart that trusts in God’s work through Jesus do they become a confession, evidence of saving faith. Without a heart changed by grace, our words are hollow and meaningless. And without a confession, followed by a transformed life, our belief is dead and impotent. Belief and confession, for the Christian, go hand in hand.

Power in the tongue:

And we pray:
Jesus, You are indeed Lord. You have saved and redeemed me. You have made me righteous before God, and I trust in Your blood for my forgiveness, and Your Spirit for my new life, Amen. Open my mouth that I may proclaim Your Lordship with boldness, as You lead me in Your ways. In Your Name I pray, Amen.
