“How can one avoid being easily irritated and letting your peace be dependent on the behavior of the people around you?”

Recently a commenter asked me, “How can one avoid being easily irritated, and letting your peace be dependent on the behavior of the people around you?”

My Reply: Dwell in The presence of The Lord more. Pray unceasingly, worship Him more. The more you are in communion with Christ the more of His peace and Presence you will receive, and you will cultivate the fruits of The Spirit; “But the fruit of The Spirit is Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬

Be quick to forgive, and pray for your offender; realizing that Spirits are working through them. Read your Word DAILY. Practice silence, meaning not reacting and having to talk back/answer to everything someone says. Especially if it’s an attack on you, your character. Let God fight those battles for you. Let Him fight ALL battles for you. Take EVERYTHING to God in prayer, and He will direct you and deliver you. It’s not always easy, but the more you lean on The Lord, and the more you realize that Jesus has promised you peace that surpasses all understanding, and His joy in your Spirit, you won’t let anyone be so quick to take it from you.

May these scripture refrences bless you. ♥️- May Williams

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬
“The discretion of a Man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭21‬
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because huMan anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept The Word planted in you, which can save you.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬-‭23‬
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth.” When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to God Who judges justly.”

‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬
“Seek The Lord and His strength; seek His Presence continually!”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of The Holy Spirit.”

John‬ ‭15‬:‭11‬
““These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His Love, He will rejoice over you with singing.””

2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭10
‭‭ “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
‭‭
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬-‭21‬
“Let Love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving The Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says The Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
