From shame to Glory.

Here’s what the Bible says about shame in Romans 6:21-23

“What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ever been there? A place of solitude. A place where you think the best way to hide is to be alone? We’ve all been there. A place of shame? A place where you think is better to rest in. It’s a place no one knows about except you. But those are the unhealthiest places we could ever find ourselves in. However unfortunate it may sound, so many of us find ourselves hiding in our place of shame and solitude. Some of us are very good at hiding our shame in a personality we are not, thus alienating ourselves from our identity. When shame overwhelms us, the only place we think to find refuge is in our solitude. We carry a burden that weighs on us the more we run away from our guilt.

Feeling Shame

The feeling of shame is a result of our becoming conscious of wrong or foolish behavior for which we were not able to foresee its harmful outcome. Trying to hide, we start looking for things that could make us forget our shameful actions. We search for pleasure in things that will never take away this shame. Never. On the contrary, the gratifying moment of the flesh would make us forget our shame but just for a while. After, shame finds us again sitting in our solitary place. Meanwhile, the actual thing we are longing for is forgiveness and love. What else does someone who has hurt someone seek for?

Forgiveness and Love

Our conscience would tell us we are not worthy of forgiveness. We may believe we deserve everything else, but not love. Then, our perception changes when we discover the truth about us. We begin to understand that it is even now in our shame we deserve love and forgiveness because what all our hearts long for is a place to rest and lay down our shame.

The One Who turns mourning to dancing, who gives beauty for ashes and who turns graves into gardens is ready to turn our shame into glory. He is the only One Who can. He is God and has already known us from the onset. When we give Him our weaknesses, He uses it for His glory. When we give Him our failures and flaws, He turns them into strength by His grace. The humiliated is who The King of forgiveness searches for. He is not satisfied until He embraces one of us who believes they no longer deserves Love and forgiveness. He is ready to satiate even YOU. There is nothing better than His Love. God is ready to turn YOUR shame to His glory.

Daniel 4:34-37.

Nebuchadnezzar’s Praise

But at the end of those days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity returned to me. Then I praised the Most High and honored and glorified Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation.

All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does what He wants with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can hold back His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”

At that time, my sanity returned to me, and my majesty and splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and my nobles sought me out, I was reestablished over my kingdom, and even more greatness came to me.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and glorify the King of heaven, because all His works are true and His ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

2 Corinthians 5:17.
Therefore if anyone be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Hebrews 11:5.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Jeremiah 17:10.
I The LORD search the heart, l try the reins, even to every Man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Jesus Christ will always Love us. Please surrender yourself to Him today.
