What are your favorite types of foods?
Food? The Word of God!!! Amen.
And the spiritual milk that God wants His children to drink and to grow up on is the Word of God. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” To grow in the grace and in the knowledge of God, we must have a desire to drink from the Word of God.
God’s revelation—God’s Word—is nourishment for our souls. As we begin the life of faith, we need the milk. As we grow, we transition to solid food. But if we do not partake of the food, we gain no nourishment, we languish, we deteriorate, we die.
God has given human beings one source of true soul food: his Son. Jesus Christ, the Word of God, God the Son, is the great Promise, for “all the promises of God find their Yes in him” (2 Corinthians 1:20). He is the soul’s bread, and “whoever feeds on this bread will live forever” (John 6:58).
But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
What are the food for our soul?
It’s the things in life that feed our heart and soul, like healthy relationships, enjoyable physical activity, a fulfilling /satisfying career, and a meaningful spiritual practice. These things can satisfy our deepest hunger, a hunger for a happy and fulfilling life.
That is my favorite content in my trough. It fills and satisfies. It gives me joy and peace. In it fulfillment abounds, Amen.

Mark 7:14-23
Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this.
Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”
After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable.
“Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them?
For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.
For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder,
adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
The Savior Himself said, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Teaching that is nourishing to the soul uplifts others, builds their faith, and gives them confidence to meet life’s challenges.
One of the most powerful ways to find joy in the Lord is through prayer and worship. The Bible instructs us to “Rejoice in the Lord.” As we praise God in worship our hearts are filled with joy. As you worship God, ask God to fill you with His Spirit.

My soul clings to you. Your right hand supports me.
But those who try to destroy my life will go into the depths of the earth.
They will be cut down by swords. Their dead bodies will be left as food for jackals.
But the king will find joy in God. Everyone who takes an oath by God will brag, but the mouths of liars will be shut
