While Paul was a prisoner in Rome, he still got to preach and teach. He did it with confidence and no one told him to stop. That is really incredible that even while he was a prisoner, he was able to spread the gospel. Paul was a prisoner and instead of wallowing in self-pity or despair, he recognized that he could still glorify God in the situation. Sometimes our situation may seem bleak. Why would God allow this to happen to us? We can glorify God in every situation. There is no situation that you will face that God cannot be glorified in. Wherever you find yourself, no matter how hard the circumstance, seek to glorify God.

Abba Father, I don’t always like the situations I find myself in. Life gets hard and sometimes seems unfair. I find myself sometimes overwhelmed and other times lonely. Help me to glorify you in whatever situation I find myself. You are sovereign and in control. Give me peace in knowing that You hold the world in Your hands and You see me. Please give me strength in hard situations. In Jesus, Your Son’s name. Amen.
