To have a successful marriage you both must be willing to submit to God. Knowing and believing that God is love, therefore God is forever the one to lead you both in how to love.
Marriage:
Many people do not understand the seriousness, the requirements, and the meaning of marriage. Marriage is not about you, and it’s not about me; it is a ministry. Men and women were created to get married, so when a couple joins together under the covenant of God to get married, that is when the real work starts. Ironically, that is when the attacks of the enemy become more forceful. The devil hates family and unity, and he comes against every husband and wife who have committed their love to God.
Marriage is WORK! After you get married, that is when you both work harder than ever for the Kingdom of Heaven. You work hard to raise your kids in a godly manner. You work hard to love one another with a godly love. You work hard at forgiveness. You work hard so that your lives can be a testimony to singles, and to other married couples. Your trials are a testimony of honesty for others to know that married people are not perfect, nor does getting married take away individual sinfulness. Married people can get drunk and curse their spouses out. Married people can dismiss each other’s feelings at times. Married people can watch porn which demoralizes the other spouse. Married people can cheat, and lie. There are so many hurtful things that married people can do. But if you are married and have God in your union, God can step in and show the errors in your ways, IF YOU ACCEPT HIM & ALLOW HIM TO. We do not change ourselves, Christ changes us. The word of God transforms us.
Romans 12:2 NLT
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
God can step in and help both husband and wife grow to be more Christ like. To be forgiving with a humble loving heart of flesh, instead of a heart of stone and a selfish spirit. Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
Marriage is denying yourself, and putting your spouse first. You can not be selfish and be married. Being married means that you are willing to be selfless. It is seeing the man or woman that you love as an imperfect soul, but still perfectly made for you. Adam she is your missing rib. She is bone of your bone, and flesh of your flesh. Eve he is the head of your house, just as Christ is the head of the church. To have a successful marriage you both must be willing to submit to God.
