*Stop Whining and Start Winning!*
“It never cease to amaze me the precious time we spend chasing shadows, playing out our imaginary dramas, worrying about unwanted facial hair, seeking adorations and vanities, justifying our actions, complaining about slow internet connections and dissecting idiotic ideologies, WHEN WE ARE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF A FULL-BLOWN MIRACLE THAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.”
As long as “your heart beat, you have love, laughter, language, a computer, and you have a small capital, the opportunities are limitless.” While China got ahead seizing her over-population as an opportunity to mass-produce for cheaper price. Therefore, the under-development of Nigeria is your full-blown miracle and an untapped land that is waiting to be explored by you, us, them and anyone who sees things the way I see it.
Someone said, “POOR is Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly.” Yes, you don’t have a lot of money, but you hate your job or don’t even have a job. I know you want to leave Nigeria so bad but the grass is always greener on the other side. While you wait for the visa, the scholarship or to find the American spouse, how about you seize the opportunities that abound in the UNDER-DEVELOPMENT of Nigeria? How about you use the RECESSION to your advantage? How about you START SMALL? There might not always be money but I can assure you that there will always be opportunities! And the greatest tragedy is to do nothing just because you think you can do little.” Excuses will always be there for you; opportunity won’t. And there is nothing more expensive than a missed opportunity.”
Someone said, “When I lost all of my excuses, I found my results!” The greatest success stories and inventions (Mark Zuckerberg , Bill Gates, Alinko Dangote and more) were developed by those who recognized problems and turned them into their opportunities to succeed. I will like to say emphatically that there is no security on this earth, there are only opportunities!
2017 is rolling out and all you did this year has been complaining, blaming the government, staying stagnant, refusing to start small and continually justifying your actions. Albert Einstein said ‘’problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them.’’ How about you look at every problem that comes your way from now differently? Nigeria is in need of youths who are critical thinkers and those who will proffer solutions to the avalanche of problems plaguing the country.
You can’t stumble on a gold mine in your comfort zone. Instead of purchasing solutions to each and every problems, how about you think about solving some of these problems yourself? Stand up, think out of the box, be the outlier, do something differently and let’s together become the next billionaires while solving Nigeria’s, Africa’s and world’s problems. If only you can quit “the blame game” and look under the rocks around you, you would find the hidden treasures! Lastly, “talent is good and intelligence is important but opportunity is EVERYTHING.”
