Who we truly are.

The Bible portrays us as God’s beloved children, chosen and adopted into His family through faith in Jesus Christ. We are created in His Image, with a new identity and a unique purpose. Through salvation, we become a new creation, heirs to His Kingdom and glory, and are redeemed by Christ’s blood.

  • God’s Beloved Children: The Bible emphasizes that we are cherished and valued by God, called His children. This identity is not based on our accomplishments or status, but on our position as beloved children of God.
  • Chosen and Adopted: God chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault, and we are adopted into His family through faith.
  • New Creation: Through salvation, we are given a new identity and a whole new life in Christ. We are transformed and made like Him.
  • Heirs to His Kingdom: We are heirs to God’s Kingdom and glory, united with Him in His life, death, resurrection, and glorification.
  • Redeemed: God purchased us with the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, freeing us from sin and death.

This post reminds me of the prodigal son. Quite simply, we have gone astray; living our lives as if it is unrelated to ‘reality’. Yes! It is reality! We are in the physical realm. Are we aware that there is a spiritual realm?

Contrary to what is belived; you came from ‘somewhere‘ and are headed for ‘somewhere‘… let us break this down…

Earth, the Universe is in the physical! It cannot be denied.

The spiritual realm and the physical realm are two distinct, yet interconnected, domains of existence. The physical realm encompasses the tangible world, including our bodies, the environment, and everything we can perceive through our senses. In contrast, the spiritual realm is an unseen, immaterial reality that is believed to be the source and foundation of the physical world. While they exist independently, they are often seen as influencing each other and even intersecting.

  • Physical Realm: This is the world we experience through our senses. It’s characterized by matter, energy, space, and time, and it operates according to physical laws that science seeks to understand.
  • Spiritual Realm: This realm is often described as being beyond the physical, encompassing concepts like souls, spirits, angels, demons, and divine entities like God. It’s seen as a realm of consciousness, intention, and spiritual forces that are not directly observable through the physical senses.
  • Interconnection: Many belief systems posit that the spiritual realm is the source and foundation of the physical realm. God is often seen as the creator and sustainer of the physical universe, existing within the spiritual realm. Some also believe that the spiritual realm influences events in the physical world through prayer, faith, and other spiritual practices.
  • The Bible, for instance, describes the spiritual realm as the home of God, angels, and fallen angels. It also suggests that humans possess a spiritual component, or soul/spirit, that exists beyond the physical body. Other belief systems, like Spiritualism, focus on the existence of a spirit world and the ability of spirits to interact with the physical realm.
