Breaking habits…

Breaking bad habits with God’s help involves seeking his guidance, confessing sins, and relying on his strength. It’s about recognizing the pattern, turning to God for forgiveness and strength, and building new, Godly habits.

Steps to Break Bad Habits with God’s Help:

  1. Seek God’s Guidance:Pray for understanding of your habits and ask for God’s help in breaking them.
  2. Confess and Repent:Acknowledge the habit, confess it to God, and seek his forgiveness.
  3. Rely on God’s Strength:Recognize that you cannot break bad habits on your own and rely on God’s power and strength.
  4. Seek Fellowship and Support:Connect with others who are also seeking to break habits and encourage one another.
  5. Build New Habits:Develop good habits that align with God’s will and help you grow in Christ.
  6. Visualize the Consequences:Consider the negative consequences of the bad habit and the positive impact of breaking it.
  7. God’s Timing:Trust in God’s timing and know that He will provide a way out of temptation.
  8. Worship and Meditation:Engage in worship, prayer, and meditation to strengthen your spiritual foundation.

Scripture and Resources:

  • Bible: The Bible offers principles for breaking bad habits, such as confession, repentance, and reliance on God’s grace.
  • Prayers: Prayers for deliverance from bad habits and for guidance in breaking them can be helpful.
  • Christian Literature: Books like Steve Poe’s “Creatures of Habit” can help identify and break bad habits.

  • “Father, I choose to fix my eyes on You and call upon Your Name for deliverance from these habits.”
  • “Lord, I acknowledge I can only be released by looking to You for help, not myself.”
