Chapter 24

“But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.”

– John 9:5

He is the light! He lived (as man) am exemplary Life. Full of examples of the way we should be. He earned the Kingship! We all have heard of “seizing power”? Well He did not ‘seize’ it! He earned it by living an exemplary Life and dying (in the flesh) a criminals death.

So, the words here are not “complex” at all, But simply point to what is. Where is He now? In the Spirit, He is with you. We already spoke of the parallel ‘existences’ our world and the Spirit world. They run parallel. We are here, and so is Christ. Not in the flesh (been here, done that.) But in the Spirit seated on His throne at the right of God.

I have contemplated this. So many ways if He allowed Himself to be ‘had’ by Satan at the time of the 3 temptations, then what? We know the existences run parallel. In the Spirit world there were witnesses. As discussed, He was taken to the parapet and asked to fling Himself down. We would not be surprised if Angels came and did bear Him up. However, being a part of who had spoken those words. He said simply ‘to God alone you bow your knee.’ What a scene in the Spiritual. He had enough and dismissed Satan for that time from His presence.

Again, so much to learn. We touched on the fact that a former head Angel of God knew all that was said by God. The same way he knew what was spoken in the garden “Of the fruit of this tree, ye shall partake not.” We touched on this. We recently shared that Eve was not present when the commandment was given.

As I shared, so much comes to mind. The tree of Life was there. They could have eaten of it and they would have the same properties as heavenly beings- Eternal existence. The same as Angels have, which is why they were cast from the garden. At the beginning of time, look how long people lived! Not hard to see that time has always been time. Days and nights. There is as we said a parallel Spiritual world. No tiredness, no days or nights- simply existence. This I know is hard to grasp. But even while we sleep, there is activity in the Spirit realm.

Second Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”

The only thing we are lacking is knowledge.

Spiritual Warfare Bible Study

The Battle belongs to the Lord…but You are the Soldier!

Introduction

To understand the battle, we need to begin with acknowledging that we are in a war. Battles make up smaller components of the bigger picture. By definition, battles involve combat between two persons, between factions, between armies and they consist of any type of “extended contest, struggle, or controversy” (Webster-Merriam).  As Christians, we are in a spiritual battle of some sort on a daily basis. In warfare, battles are fought on different fronts, for different reasons, and with varying degrees of intensity. The same is true in spiritual warfare. Our spiritual battles and warfare are real, even though we cannot physically see the attacker. But, we can educate ourselves on how the battles are fought and how they impact our lives on a daily basis.

We have to ask ourselves, “Why do we even want to fight?” It will do us no good to educate ourselves on the battle if we see no reason for the fight. War is very controversial today in the physical realm. Those attitudes, beliefs and convictions will transfer over to the spiritual realm. However, in the spiritual realm, there is a battle going on regardless of our opinion. We are either victors or victims. Jesus has come and conquered. The war is already won in the heavens. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:18 that, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” We now have the privilege of having an eternal relationship with God. Many of us enter into that covenant of salvation by grace.  But the Matthew 28:18 verse is not only about our salvation; it is also about our every day victory, which adds up to victorious living in Christ. Every day victory is achieved by knowing, believing and understanding the battles that we are enduring daily, regardless if we are passive or active in the battles. Do you want all that God has for you on this earth right now, or do you want to wait until you get to heaven to receive the victory and blessings?

We have them in the here and now! Stretch out and receive!

Shout It From The Rooftops!

‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.’ Psalm 107:2 NKJV

No matter how badly you have failed, God will give you another chance.

After Jonah had disobeyed God, spent three days in the belly of a whale, and been regurgitated on the shore close to where he was sent, the Bible says, ‘The word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time.’ (Jonah 3:1 KJV) King David’s sins were front-page tabloid material. Yet God restored him, and he wrote: ‘He… brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay… set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.’ (Psalm 40:2–3 NKJV)

Look, upon others if and when you lack. Good examples? Repeat them. Lessons to learn? Be notified and taught!

When God restores you, it doesn’t matter who’s fighting against you. When He raises you up, no one can keep you down. If God has redeemed you—say so. Nobody else can tell your story. Nobody else knows what God has done for you. Nobody else knows how far you’ve come. Nobody else knows what you’ve been through. But you do—you know it was only by God’s grace that you survived.

So don’t allow the devil to steal your joy and your testimony. It may have taken you longer than everybody else, but God has given you the victory.

The devil would love to silence you. Why? Because when you tell people what God has done for you, someone else will be set free. The Bible says, ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.’ So the word for you today is: shout it from the rooftops!

We have a prayer (and a half! Hallelujah! Being God’s family now, we claim this.) When we were ‘apart’ from His people (which we are now!) Moses was asked to teach Aaron and his sons how to bless God’s family (that is us folks!) It is ours now, as Jesus has placed us under the family tent!

“ ‘ “The Lord bless you

and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you

and give you peace.”

Number 6: 25,26

Enjoy our brief stroll through the garden of realization.

When the two ears are put side by side it forms the shape of the heart. lnterestingly, the word ‘ear’ sits right in the middle of the word ‘heart’ (h-ear-t). The ear is the way to the heart. So, if you want someone’s heart, learn to listen to him/her. If you want God’s heart, learn to listen to His Spirit in you.

I was reading a life-affirming article the final key we see is the most important:

The final entry: A balanced life is your spiritual side. This could be anything from taking a walk in the woods to making a trip to church on Sunday-whatever fills up your spiritual cup. This is how we renew ourselves when we’re down-and it’s something that can be easily neglected. If you score low here, make the time to rethink your connection to God, nature, or whatever. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to tackle the world.

So, I will admit that I spend time building self. It is key. Let us continue in all we do.
