But Jesus said unto his disciples “Give you these people food to eat.” And His disciples said, “We have no more but five loaves and two fish; except we should go and buy meat for all these people.” Luke 9:13
But God communed with my spirit and shared with me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. Amen.
The disciples saw only the lack of food and of money, but they forgot the power of God. They had seen so many miracles done by Jesus, and yet, they still did not sense the opportunity for God’s glory that lay before them. They forgot that “Little is much, if God is in it.”
And we pray:
Teach us, Lord, to believe in Your power and not to despair over our present circumstances. We know you can do great things with very little things. We know You delight to work with what is weak, that Your strength will be glorified, Amen.
