“Stand still”!

It is not ‘natural’ to ‘stand still’ when faced with challenges, pursuit, hardship… Well, “Stay still on your knees, on your face – prostrate, with your hands raised in praise…” Be still! The fight is not your own but in faith place it at the feet of Jesus. He already stood in for you; “fear not”…

“Is this real?” You ask. To be specific – “natural”. We do not operate in the ‘natural’. Surprised?

Supernatural:

  • Beyond the natural; unexplained by natural law or phenomena; abnormal
  • Characteristic of God or a deity

The supernatural is indeed beyond the natural, but for a follower of Christ, it is not abnormal, it is foundational. So much so that if you don’t remember anything else from this share, I want you to remember this:
“Without the supernatural, Christianity doesn’t exist.”
Let me say it again, without the supernatural, Christianity doesn’t exist!

Why is this so? Consider these facts.

  • Without the supernatural, there is no virgin birth.
  • Without the supernatural, there are no miracles.
  • Without the supernatural, Jesus’ death is not an atoning death—it doesn’t pay the price for sin.
  • Without the supernatural, there is no resurrection.

Christianity is rooted in…no, it is born from the supernatural. Our Scriptures begin with the words, “In the beginning, God…” Everything else flows from that. “In the beginning” is not when God began to exist; it is when time began and when the natural world we see all around us came into existence.

In Scripture, we learn of God, angels, Satan, and demons. We read of miracles and demonic oppression and possession. We read of spiritual warfare.

What you, or any member of your household is going through, fear not, stand still, and see the salvation which I your Creator, and Helper will show you as you live in faith. Abraham was led to leave his family, to murder his son! Mind you the same voice/feeling led him to see so much! Joseph, Job, Paul… an unending list (read The Word!)

Heavenly Father, thank You that nothing is impossible for You. Hear my prayer for a miracle. Fill me with faith that You can answer. What seems impossible to me is within Your power. When I can’t think of a solution, You are still able to act as I live in faith (Hebrews 11:1). Please help me believe that nothing I face in life can compare to Your Essence – The Sun You Created shines light on the Earth, produces fire, enables ‘life’. Father, You Created it, yet it is only a minuscule ‘star’ in existence. You are the God of the impossible, Amen. Neither death or life, angels or rulers, things present or future, height or depth, or anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from Your Love. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord and King, Amen.
