When Lazarus died Jesus wept… Love wept? Yet may have thought the loved ones of The Lord went missing 😕. Think again!
The Word is awesome, ALIVE and complete, Amen
Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead!
Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha (Martha of Bethany (Aramaic: מַרְתָּא Martâ) is a biblical figure described in the Gospels of Luke and John. … Together with her siblings Lazarus and Mary of Bethany, she is described as living in the village of Bethany near Jerusalem. She was witness to Jesus resurrecting her brother, Lazarus.) served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with Jesus. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
Mary: Mary Magdalene’s life after the Gospel accounts. According to Eastern tradition, she accompanied St. John the Apostle to Ephesus, where she died and was buried. French tradition spuriously claims that she evangelized Provence (southeastern France) and spent her last 30 years in an Alpine cavern. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.baylor.edu/content/services/document.php/199647.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjJp_LaqfbrAhVZgXIEHTXeApMQFjAGegQIERAJ&usg=AOvVaw2KI6QweMdGV5zs2MUdr7pj
This chapter points at so very much….
But one of Jesus’ disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray Him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
“Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.”
Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of Him but also to see Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well, for on account of Lazarus many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in Him.
Wow! To God be The glory, Hallelujah!!! We are taught by reading The Word!
